New Processing on Moon Shot

I decided I really need to start learning some more Photoshop techniques - the whole point of doing this blog wasn't to just take boring pictures every day but to try to LEARN, so I joined lynda.com again and hopefully I'll learn some new things. Here is the same moon shot processed with some burn/dodge with an overlay blend mode and also a gradient map to make it b/w.

Tom Sawyer

We went to see my friend's sons in Tom Sawyer (of course, I had to bring my camera) :) They all did such a great job! We really enjoyed it!

Tried to lure Joely with Peek-a-Boo for a photo, but it didn't work too well. She is Soooooooooo hard to get a photo of right now!

I need a LOT more practice with this. I'll be doing a bunch of these coming up hoping to get it down. Today was very frustrating, but I had a sloppy setup, so better luck next time.

Valentine

I made this valentine. Not thrilled with the pic of DS - his face/head look distorted (used my 50mm lens on d700). But he got the shirt dirty (with the lollypop) and I know he will not want to do these again, so this is what Grandpa and Grandma get to see. Oh, well. I enjoyed making the card, though - nothing fancy, but I made it myself and I'm looking forward to trying more.

Fo Floor!

I got the barnwood Fo Floor today. I LOVE LOVE it!!! This was just minutes from being woken from her nap (not for pics, LOL, but it was getting late) but I had to play with this right away. It really SMELLS terrible, but it looks great!

Oh, to be 17 again! :) All the best things in life are still ahead for Uniqua! She is a beautiful, sweet girl and I hope all her dreams come true!!

Margaritas

I had a rare couple of hours to myself tonight to meet Lisa at Cozumel for Margaritas and dinner. :) It was yummy, but now I have a headache!

The Sun was out today

Today was not a very successful day photography-wise. First I tried to get the blue sky but properly exposed skin full-sun picture that I still have not mastered, but DD was not in the mood. I tried.



Then later I noticed the sun under the gutter and the dripping from the snow on the roof melting. It looked really pretty.

ISO 10,000 and my Sunroom

This pic looks almost identical to the other day, but it was ISO 10,000 with my d700 at night with my not-very-bright dining room lighting.



I just like the colors in this snow globe. You can see my whole sunroom in its reflection.

I'm 38 today. I hate the number - it feels OLD. I don't feel old, though. At least not when I'm nursing my toddler - maybe when I'm plucking out grays or looking at my skin in the magnified mirror... That is why no head shot of me today. Here I am hiding behind my hair, looking at my beautiful daughter.

Horribly soft picture - I shouldn't even post it. But she was such a stinker tonight and would NOT let me take a picture of her and this is all I got. If I cross my eyes, it looks cute :)
