New Backdrop

Still trying to figure out if I like this new backdrop. Here at f/1.4 it looks great, but in focus it looks more tie-dye, which is NOT good. I am vowing to never EVER buy a cheap, no-name backdrop again. Just not worth it! But here it looks OK - need to try it again at more like f/5 (yesterday's was at f/5 - not liking that as well, but she's pretty close to the back on that one)

It's warming up!

The snow has melted and I really want to master OCF outdoors this summer, so I had to start tonight. A lot of things working against me in this pic - DS super uncooperative (I told him to not stick his tongue out when he jumped, he stuck it out further), super windy so no umbrella (just a bare speedlight), And I have no decent sky shot from my yard, so I had to shoot bottom-up. Also I wasn't thinking and was dragging the shutter too much and got some motion blur. But I'm looking forward to improving with this. I'm ordering some radio triggers soon, since I had more than one instance of my flash not firing because it couldn't 'see' my popup flash.

These are the cutest little books! There are photos on the opposite side of the book, too. Front and back cover and hard cover and the folded page is a card stock type paper. I love these!

Practicing nailing focus at f/1.4 with my 50mm. I used a modified and lowered opacity version of "Cindy's Periwinkle Haze" action on these.
